Rony Plesl gave the cutters of the Cubism collection a great deal of creative freedom. As a result, no two artefacts from the series are the same. However, they all carry the same message: the celebration of the eponymous revolutionary artistic movement, innovative Moser colours and masterful manual cut. The set was introduced in 2009, and its creation is the work of up to 11 pairs of hands.

Winter is a time of silence and light. Here, the beauty of glass truly shines – with its depth, purity, and colours. Designed by Rony Plesl, one of the most prominent contemporary designers, these cubist vases and bowls were derived from his fascination with French and Czech cubism. We drew inspiration from cubist shapes, geometry, and rhythm, which he brought to glass. They’re pieces that don’t quicken time. Quite the opposite – they invite one to stop, to quietly observe the changes in light and colours, capable of illuminating even the shortest of winter days.

Cubism according to Rony Plesl
The craftsmanship of Moser glassworkers is an integral part of this collection’s unique, cubism-inspired design. When cutting the glass objects to Rony Plesl’s design, the glassmasters retain a lot of freedom – which means that every single bowl or vase from this set is totally unique. The splendid light properties of cut glass will attract attention in either the clear version or in one of the characteristic Moser colours. Designer
Rony Plesl
Rony Plesl – the Designer of the Year 2011 and currently one of the most well-known Czech designers – pays tribute to the glassworking tradition embodied by the Moser brand with his Cubism collection. His approach to both drinkware and decorative cut glass returns to the shapes typical of the 1930s, while the cut celebrates the timeless mastery of Carlsbad glassmakers. Rony Plesl graduated from Academy of Arts, Architecture & Design in Prague (UMPRUM), where he returned after years abroad to lead the Studio of Glass.
