A Tale of Colours in Paris

Once again our glassworks had a presentation at the prestigious Maison&Objet interior design fair in Paris this year. After last year’s collection celebrating 160 years of the glassworks, we chose the theme of Moser’s unique colours for this year’s presentation. The installation’s concept introduces the colourful palette of Moser’s glass, which is truly unique in the world and a carefully guarded secret.

A Tale of Colours was told by means of a collection of new works of art, created in cooperation with renowned Czech designers and talented, young artists. There were also designs by our glassworks’ Art Director Lukáš Jabůrek as well as Jan Čtvrtník, Boda Horák or Jakub Balhar. Daniela Chodilová, Vojtěch Hepnar, Tereza Rusinová and Martin Opl, all students who did well in the sixth Ludwig Moser Award, also found their place in A Tale of Colours.

Visitors to the renowned fair, which highlights the leading brands in the field, could take a peek at a tale of colours in a collection featuring craftsmanship from master glassmakers, cutters and engravers which celebrates the unique variation in colour of Moser glass. The secret of the colours has been carefully kept for over a century. It is the glassworks’ most precious treasure, known only to a chosen few. “The idea of colour was born in the head of Leo Moser, son of the glassworks’ founder, at the beginning of the 20th century. This novelty soon became a symbol of originality and luxury“, Lukáš Jabůrek, the Art Director, says, recounting the birth of coloured works. Artworks in new designs making full use of Moser’s colours will also be presented at a ceremony in the Czech Republic in the coming weeks.
