The Moser brand, founded in 1857, and the porcelain manufacturer Thun1794, whose history stretches as far back as 1794, stand amongst the crown jewels of the Czech Republic. These two companies from Karlovy Vary unite respect with tradition, craftsmanship, and beauty, and together they strive to preserve them – by supporting young talents at the local academy of arts, and more.

 The collaborations between the Moser glassworks and the Thun1794 porcelain manufacturer also resulted in the unique Splendid Collection, which harmoniously matches the crystal drinkware set with the noble porcelain tableware. The collection was created to flawlessly complement a festive dining table, where Moser’s famous Splendid set shines, with plates, dishes, bowls, and cups in the same spirit of nobility and refined taste.

Splendid celebrates its 115th anniversary

The name ‘Splendid’ comes from the Latin ‘splendidus’, meaning precious or wonderful. And that perfectly describes this collection. Since it was first introduced in 1911, it’s become one of Moser’s most famous drinkware collections. This year, it celebrates its 115th anniversary – and it’s still a symbol of luxury, representativeness, and timeless elegance.

 The crystal glass is adorned with multiple types of cuts. Each detail requires a deep focus, a firm hand, and absolute precision. Especially the delicate pebble cut, the most demanding of them all. The result is a broad, crowned band of pure-gold oroplastic.

 The Splendid set embodies the ideals of a comfortable, aristocratic environment. So, it’s no surprise that the collection has found its way onto the tables of important figures – pieces have been made bearing state sigils, presidential emblems, and sovereigns’ personal monograms.

A harmonious union

To celebrate this gem, a porcelain Splendid set has been created. It’s adorned with the same décor of pure gold as the crystal collection. It’s made up of a pattern with palmettes and acanthus scrolls – a gold print, which is then painted by hand. This precise process transforms every piece into a real jewel on any festive dining table.
