Five glasses, one story. The Levitation drinkware set includes a wine glass, a martini glass, a whisky glass, a water and rum glass, and a water and long drink glass. Created in collaboration between French designer Maxime d’Angeac and Moser’s master craftsmen, it draws on Art Deco geometry and the atmosphere of the legendary Orient Express. The demands of crafting these pieces by hand limit their production to just 200 of each glass type per year, making Levitation an exceptional collector’s set.

    Maxime d’Angeac

French architect and designer with a passion for the Italian Renaissance, Art Deco, and the collection of rare books, Maxime d’Angeac is known for his exceptional attention to detail and his ability to sensitively combine historical references with contemporary design.

Throughout his career, he’s collaborated with prestigious maisons including Hermès and Daum. In recent years, he’s devoted himself to what he describes as one of the greatest projects of his career: reinterpreting the legendary Orient Express train and creating its maritime counterpart – a new generation of luxury sailing yachts.

Maxime d’Angeac shares the values that have defined Orient Express from the beginning: exceptional craftsmanship, noble materials, precision, and attention to every detail. Here, his approach naturally meets Moser’s philosophy.

    Levitation

For five years, Maxime d’Angeac and Moser’s master craftspeople worked to translate his vision into handcrafted crystal. Maxime returned to the glassworks repeatedly as they developed and refined the designs together. Many of his sketches pushed the limits of what could be made by hand. The result is a work of design and a testament to the skill of Moser’s glassmakers and cutters, who brought his vision to life.

Production begins at the furnace, where the glassmakers blow molten glass into handmade wooden moulds. Each piece then moves to the glass-cutting workshop, where the collection’s distinctive geometry takes shape. The decorative grooves encircling the body of each glass require a specially made cutting wheel and precise control over every cut.

The stem undergoes an equally demanding transformation. By gradually removing material from a substantial prismatic blank, the cutters create a slender form that lends the glass its lightness and makes it comfortable to hold. They also cut the facets featuring polished surfaces whose edges catch and refract the light, bringing the geometric pattern into focus.
