MOSER & KVIFF
The Moser glassworks and the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. A storied partnership between two Czech icons, representing the absolute peak in their respective fields.
how are the globes created
Created by the Moser glassmakers, the Crystal Globes travel from Karlovy Vary into the hands of the greatest directors, actors, actresses, and filmmaking legends, joining them on their journeys around the world. Take a peek behind the curtain of how this extraordinary award is made at the Moser glassworks.
Working at the furnace, the glassmakers take the red-hot molten glass and brilliantly form it into a round shape. Then it’s time for the cutters to whittle it down to the absolutely perfect dimensions. Each crystal orb must fit in the statuette’s hands precisely down to the millimetre.
