AURA

The Aura Collection draws inspiration from the northern landscape of eternal ice, home to one of the most breathtaking, yet mysterious, natural phenomena: The aurora borealis.

VASES & BOWLS IN MATTE CRYSTAL

The matte surface of the vases and bowls evokes an icy crust, with a fascinating play of colours unfolding. The subtle and intense tonal valeurs permeate this “frozen” layer, created by the unique tri-coloured cores. In fact, it’s these cores that give life to the unexpected hues, perfectly capturing the variability, depth, and dynamics of the light present during the aurora borealis.

Producing these matte vases and bowls with tri-coloured cores is one of glassmaking’s most demanding disciplines. Blowing the coloured cores is quite literally alchemy, as the individual tones must fuse together in a single moment with absolute precision. The cutting that follows tests not only the expertise but also the physical strength of our masters, as the cutter holds as much as twelve kilograms of glass in their hands.

The Aura Collection of matte vases and bowls is not a limited edition, yet it still ranks amongst the rarest pieces created at the glassworks today. Our masters can produce only twelve pieces of each type per year.

The individual colours were selected from Moser’s rich sample palette. The carnelian shade was melted entirely anew, especially for this collection. It was created by combining original recipes and named after the gemstone that glows with warm orange tones.

VASES IN GLOSSY CRYSTAL

Vases inspired by the northern night, with the aurora borealis passing through like a fleeting bridge between sky and earth. The chosen colours recall the mysterious light penetrating the dark sky, while the bold cut evokes the ice’s edge. The facet cutters must possess great physical strength to hold the heavy vases in their hands, but also the delicate feel necessary to work with crystal. And the vases feature a closed neck, so dark blue that the cutter cannot see inside, forcing them to accurately estimate the depth of the molten glass.

DRINKWARE COLLECTION

Its bold, cut edges evoke the sparkling cold and the sharp structures of ice. The smooth crystal contrasts with the massive cut, and each piece looks as though the cutter hewn it straight from the ice. The upper portion glitters with eight precise facets, subtly contrasting with the powerful, irregularly cut lower half. Every product in the drinkware set – the glasses, carafes, and bottles – bears the gilded Moser logo that shines through the clear crystal like a ray of sunlight passing through an icy landscape.
