ELECTRONIC PRE-TRIAL ANALYSIS AND SETTLEMENT PROJECTIONS

Moser & Marsalek, P.C. offers a decision analysis program to facilitate the understanding of complex cases. By constructing decision trees our attorneys can easily identify, track, and clearly understand important risks - factual and legal - in a case. The program allows us to provide our clients with a comprehensive understanding of the risks of their lawsuits by making it easy for the attorney to evaluate the overall chances of prevailing. By adding our experience in local jurisdictions to this computer technology, we are able to assess the client’s exposure on any matter at any time.

ELECTRONIC CASE/MATTER MANAGEMENT
Moser & Marsalek, P.C. utilizes LawBase by Synaptec for electronic case management which allows us to closely monitor case files, efficiently organize case information in a central location and manage all critical events. The program has five main components: cataloguing case information, docketing and diary of critical dates, history of key events, correspondence preparation and inventory of case notes. The program also allows searches on any criteria and allows printing of client-specific documents and reports. We have recently integrated the program with Outlook XP and iManage. Plans to integrate with Elite Enterprise are scheduled for Spring 2006.

INTERNET EXPLORER AND ON-LINE RESEARCH
Moser & Marsalek, P.C. employees currently use the Internet for research, both legal and practice group specific. Internet access also allows access to the WestLaw computer research data bank, and the potential to access outside Extranets and to share information electronically with our clients. With the capability to perform complex keyword searches, attorneys are able to research a case quickly and thoroughly. We also have in our Library, ALR's and AmJur, as well as Matthew Benders Worker's Compensation Law Library on cd-rom. Connectivity to MOBARNET (St. Louis' local court computer uplink) is also available.

ELECTRONIC DOCUMENT PRODUCTION,
ASSEMBLY, MANAGEMENT, & DISTRIBUTION

Moser & Marsalek, P.C. produces documents using Microsoft Word and Excel applications. All documents are stored on the network firm-wide retrieval using the iManage document management program. Archived documents, as well as current documents are available and can be accessed through a search engine which allows multiple criteria searches as well as full-text key word searches. Scanning capabilities are used to enter practice group-specific documents or forms into the document management program for easy access and consistency.

Through the use of scanning and imaging software, we have integrated these technologies with iManage so that all case related information, whether originated internally or externally, will be managed electronically and can be retrieved from one location. All deposition transcripts can be made available electronically. Transcripts are imported into iManage making them immediately available to the legal team.

ELECTRONIC PRESENTATIONS
Moser & Marsalek, P.C.'s electronic presentation software and equipment allows us to project computer generated documents and images, as well as video with sound, for jury trials or communication with clients. The ability to visually illustrate complicated and detailed information has proven invaluable.

COMPREHENSIVE ELECTRONIC BILLING & REPORTING SYSTEM
Moser & Marsalek, P.C. uses a sophisticated and comprehensive billing system designed for law firms. The entire billing system was upgraded to the Elite Enterprise system in August 2005. The system gives us the flexibility to customize billing formats and billing codes to the client’s particular needs. We have implemented the ABA standard billing task codes. Our system also provides the facility to establish budgets on a matter basis and provides detailed reports on budget analysis, projections and variances. Moser has the reporting abilities to quickly and accurately analyze costs and make adjustments in accordance with the desire of our clients.
