GENERAL TRIAL Litigation
Cathleen (Carrie) Wrisberg is a principal in the General Trial Litigation group of Moser and Marsalek, P.C.. She has significant experience representing clients in the areas of product liability, health law, professional malpractice, transportation and insurance coverage. Ms. Wrisberg has a broad litigation practice and has represented clients in state, federal, and appellate courts in Missouri and Illinois.
Ms. Wrisberg has successfully represented clients in toxic tort litigation including benzene exposure and mold exposure claims. She has represented local companies for product liability, professional malpractice and health law matters. She has represented national and international companies for insurance coverage and product liability litigation. She has handled complex litigation matters including the defense of class action claims.
Ms. Wrisberg was elected principal in 2003. She joined Moser and Marsalek as an associate in 1999. Before joining Moser, Ms. Wrisberg served for five years as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Saint Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. She served on the trial division and the sexual assault team. She prosecuted jury trials and bench trials ranging from felony to misdemeanor criminal offenses.
REPORTED CASES
Specialty Medical Sales, Inc. et al. v. Deen D. Development, Inc., et al. (2007) (Circuit Court of City of St. Louis, Missouri). This jury verdict was selected by Missouri Lawyers Weekly as a Top Defense Jury Verdict for the State of Missouri in 2007. Representation of a local company for toxic tort claims. After an eight day trial, the jury returned a verdict in favor of defendants on all counts. Plaintiffs had claimed that they received personal injuries from exposure to toxic mold and demanded $4.4 million from the jury. Top Verdicts and Settlements of 2007. Owens v. Unified Investigations, 166 S.W.3d 89 (Mo. App. E.D. 2005). (Circuit Court of City of St. Louis, Missouri and Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District): Successful representation of a fire investigation company against claims of professional negligence.
State ex rel. Union Planters Bank v. Kendrick, 142 S.W.3d 729 (Mo. Banc 2004). (Circuit Court of St. Louis County, Missouri and Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District). Writ granted in class action lawsuit. Representation of local company for professional liability claims by bondholder plaintiffs who claimed financial losses from their investments.
