Moser & Marsalek's has Four Medical Malpractice Cases Named Among Missouri Lawyers Weekly's Top Defense Verdicts of 2008

Peter F. Spataro , senior principals in the firm Moser & Marsalek, P.C. were recognized by Missouri Lawyers Weekly as having four of the "Top Defense Verdicts of 2008" in the January 26, 2009 edition.

Phillip Willman with the assistance of Angela Pozzo successfully defended Saint Louis University in a medical negligence lawsuit that claimed the fourth largest defense verdict for 2008. in the case of Trinidy Noldon, by and through her next friend and mother, Vatisha Chester v. Saint Louis University. The plaintiff originally sought $17.2 million in damages. Plaintiff had made a settlement demand of $5.7 million. The St. Louis City jury returned a defense verdict.

Phillip Willman and Amy Sumner prevailed in defending Metro Health Group Inc. in a wrongful death case of Kearns v. Metro Health Group of St. Louis Inc. seeking $1.5-2 million in damages. Plaintiff demanded $990,000 in settlement. The St. Louis County jury found in favor of the defendant.

Peter F. Spataro assisted by Amy Sumner obtained a defense victory in defending Washington University neurosurgeon Robert L. Grubb, Jr., M.D. in a wrongful death case of Luella Forbis, individually and as surviving spouse and personal representative of the estate of George Forbis, deceased, and Deborah Brooks v. Robert L. Grubb, Jr. M.D. The plaintiffs were denied their request for $400,000 in damages.

Peter F. Spataro with the assistance of Amy Sumner prevailed in the defense of Washington University and one of its cytologists in a medical malpractice claim in the case of Tarek Badwan v. Washington University and Rosa Davila, M.D. The plaintiff was denied his request for damages in the amount of $280,000.
