Brian D. Winer (7/12/1950 - 8/24/2010)
Our firm is saddened by the passing of our colleague and friend Brian Winer. Brian was associated with our firm for many years until he contracted ALS. Despite the overwhelming physical disabilities associated with this disease, he always welcomed visitors and loved hearing our war stories about our interesting cases. Brian's law career focused on the defense of physicians. He was a tenacious advocate for his clients and always took the time to understand the complex medical issues in his cases. Over the years he developed an excellent rapport with his clients.
About a year ago, one of our attorneys made a presentation to Washington University law students. After the speech he was approached by one of the students who told him Brian inspired her to pursue a career in law. She explained that Brian represented her father in a medical malpractice trial and how Brian spent a great deal of time guiding her father successfully through a very difficult time for both the doctor and his family.
Our thoughts are with Brian's wife Idelle, his lovely daughter Leah and the rest of Brian's family.
